With vibrant yellow flower clusters blooming in late spring, this perennial wildflower is a pollinator magnet, attracting native bees, butterflies, and even supporting the larvae of the Black Swallowtail butterfly.
Naturally adapted to thrive across the Eastern and Central U.S., Wild Sunshine™ grows best in moist to medium soils and full sun to partial shade. Its height ranges from 1.5 to 3 feet, making it perfect for meadows, garden borders, and native restoration projects.
🌱 Planting Instructions:
Best time to plant: Spring or fall (can be dormant-seeded in late fall)
Cold stratification: Recommended – mix seed with moist sand and refrigerate for 30–60 days before planting if planting outside the fall window
Sowing depth: Surface sow or lightly press into soil – do not bury deeply
Spacing: Scatter or sow 12–18 inches apart
Watering: Keep moist during germination; once established, moderately drought-tolerant
