Our story begins in 2001 with our sister company, Moss Acres, which helped pioneer the moss lawn industry and introduced more homeowners to living alternatives beyond conventional grass.

Over the years, we repeatedly heard from people who wanted practical options for high-maintenance lawns, difficult growing areas, shade, drought, pollinator habitat, and changing landscaping priorities. Earthwise Seed was created to bring those options together in one accessible place.

Earthwise Seed was developed from more than 25 years of hands-on experience in sustainable groundcovers and alternative lawn production. That background informs how we evaluate seed, explain climate considerations, and help customers select a practical option for their property.
