His work began in 2001 with Moss Acres, a pioneering company in the moss lawn industry and one of the earliest advocates for low-impact, chemical-free ground cover systems. That foundation led to the creation of Earthwise Seed Company, built to make alternative lawns more accessible, affordable, and practical for everyday homeowners.
Today, James focuses on developing and promoting non-GMO, U.S.-grown seed blends designed for reduced mowing, lower water usage, and improved soil health. His approach is rooted in decades of hands-on experience in sustainable landscaping systems that are designed to perform long-term across diverse climate zones.
