Draw Your Lawn Area
Natural seed with a 100% organic, plant-based seed binder that helps hold seed against the soil. Premixed in a shaker jug for prepared bare soil and bare spot repair. Covers 2,000 sq. ft. per jug.
Help your seed stay where you plant it.
Give the bare spots in your backyard a fresh start. Earthwise Magic Seed PetLawn combines Tall Fescue and White Dutch Clover with a 100% organic, plant-based seed binder in one shaker jug for lawns shared with pets.
Tall Fescue provides the grass foundation, while White Dutch Clover adds softness and natural variety. Establish a new lawn on prepared bare soil or repair exposed patches. Protect young seedlings from pet traffic while they establish.
A binder that activates with water
Water activates the binder, making it tacky to help hold seed against the soil while your planting gets established. That binder is Earthwise’s Seed-Tac, already mixed into the jug for you.
What is in the jug
Each 5 lb jug contains 4 lb of seed blend plus 1 lb of 100% organic, plant-based seed binder. The shaker-spreader lid lets you apply the premix directly from the jug, with no separate blending required.
- Coverage: 2,000 sq. ft. of prepared bare soil per jug
- Seed blend: Tall Fescue and White Dutch Clover
- Net contents: 5 lb total: 4 lb PetLawn seed blend + 1 lb binder
- Use: Bare soil installation and bare spot repair
How to plant
- Measure. Measure the prepared bare soil you plan to treat. For spot repair, add together only the exposed patches. One jug covers 2,000 sq. ft.
- Prepare. Remove dead grass, competing vegetation, and debris. Loosen the exposed soil and rake the surface smooth.
- Shake. Use the shaker-spreader lid to distribute the premix evenly across the measured area.
- Press. Gently press the seed into contact with the soil.
- Water and care. Water gently to activate the binder. Keep the planting consistently moist during establishment.
Keep pets off the seeded area while young plants establish.
Measuring bare patches
Add together the exposed soil areas you are treating. Use that combined area to plan coverage, rather than the size of your entire lawn.
Overseeding an existing lawn?
For overseeding established turf, choose the original PetLawn seed-only blend. Use this seed-and-binder premix on prepared, exposed soil.
Does the binder replace watering?
Keep the planting consistently moist during establishment. The binder helps hold seed against the soil; soil preparation and ongoing watering are still part of planting.
